This is a fan fiction type poem of the original 'The Sound Collector' by Roger McGough.
A stranger came at midnight
Dressed all in black and grey
Put every dream into a bag
And carried them away
The unicorn inside the zoo
The lottery that I won
The meadow that I danced
The bright and shining sun
The starry sea I swam in
The pet lion that I owned
The fame I earned for painting
And all those ice-cream cones
The galaxies I leapt across across
The books that I wrote
The feathered wings upon my back
My rainbow-coloured boat
The one where I was falling
The one where I could fly
The one I was invisible
To all I said goodbye
A stranger came at midnight
He didn't leave his name
Left us only darkness
I'll never sleep again
